Dear Friends,
"Democrat Edward Headington is our first recommendation for the November run-off. Headington's performance at the forums and editorial board interviews impressed both Republicans and Democrats. Although his moderate social views may cost him some votes, we think his fiscal conservative stances will play well with voters in the 38th District."
What is significant about this endorsement is that the Signal covers SCV politics closely and decided that although I am the only candidate who doesn't live in their circulation area, they know me well enough to think that I would do a better job representing the 38th Assembly District than my three opponents.
Another in-depth article about this race appeared inthe Ventura County Star a few days ago reporting that the electoral math "virtually guarantee[s] Headington one of the top two spots in the primary, allowing him to advance to the November ballot. That means the three Republicans are likely fighting for the remaining spot."
One of the most rewarding takeaways from this campaign is the support I am drawing from independents and Republicans who don't agree with me on everything, but are backing me because of what is happening--or rather what is not happening--in Sacramento. Listening to voters every day, I can assure you that folks are looking for problem-solvers, not ideologues who have pandered so much to the extremes of their parties.

How else can one explain that I finished second in both recent Santa Clarita Valley GOP and Tea Party straw polls? Perhaps it is because I don't waste people's time attacking my opponents and instead focus on my priority issues: Creating Jobs, Improving Public Education, and Protecting Public Safety from the budget chaos. From what voters tell me, they are supporting my candidacy because I offer them something refreshing and a hope for some common sense in Sacramento.
To that end, I am asking one last time before Election Day for help. Please help me finish in the top two on June 5th so that my name will appear on the November 6th ballot, giving voters a real choice for change in the Assembly.

Edward
